How to spot a trending token early (before it is on every list)

TRENDING5 min read

By the time a token is trending everywhere, the easy part of the move is usually done. The edge is in the minutes before, and in knowing exactly when the crowd arrived.

the leading signals

  • Volume acceleration: 5-minute volume doubling twice in a row on a token with real liquidity.
  • Holder growth: new unique wallets per minute rising while the top-10 share falls.
  • Launchpad graduation: a bonding-curve token migrating to a real pool is the moment liquidity and visibility jump together.
  • Social velocity: mentions rising across several chats at once, not one big account.
  • Chain rotation: when one chain's trending list is stale, attention rotates to another.

the confirming signal: trending entry

Trending lists aggregate what thousands of users are looking at. Entry into one is the confirmation that attention has arrived. It is late for the first move and early for the second, which is often the larger one because the audience is now 100x bigger.

The key is to know the exact time and market cap of that entry. That is what a tracker is for: Fomo Trending records the moment a token enters the trending list and ranks every token by gain since that timestamp.

what to do at trending entry

Do not buy the entry candle. Run the 60-second check (liquidity, volume, contract, holders), then wait for the first pullback. Tokens that hold their first trending pullback have the best follow-through; tokens that don't were already at the top.

false positives

Trending is attention, not quality. Rug pulls trend too, briefly. Filter out anything with mint or freeze authority, disabled selling, or a single wallet above 20%. Any tracker worth using does this filtering before showing you the token.
